PNW History

The Pacific Northwest Drill Team Festival was started in 1966 by Mr. Bill Jameson, the Director of the Boise High Thunderbirds.  Mr. Jameson felt a festival with championships based on team sizes was needed in the area.  The festival was an immediate success and has continued to grow each year.

The following states have been represented in the festival in past years: Idaho, Oregon, Washington, California, Nevada, Utah, and Montana.  It is now recognized as one of the great spectacles held in the Boise Valley.

We would like to welcome each of the fine dance teams that will be competing in our 53rd annual Pacific Northwest Drill Team Festival.  Some of the finest teams from Idaho and surrounding states attend this festival every year.  It has a long-standing tradition of excellence.  Some of the benefits from participating, such as self-discipline, self-confidence, pride and teamwork, will only compliment the many life-long friendships that develop in such an event.  Such benefits will add immeasurably to your high school experience and beyond.

Best of Luck!  We hope you have a positive and enjoyable experience.
